Professor Dr. Zaidi Bin Zakaria is a lecturer and Senior Consultant in General Surgery and Colorectal Surgery at the School of Medical Sciences, Specialist Hospital, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). His research interests include General Surgery, Colorectal Surgery, Minimally Invasive Surgery, Pelvic Floor Disorders and Wound Care. Currently, Professor Dr. Zaidi serves as a Senior Consultant in the Department of Surgery at Specialist Hospital USM. He previously held the position of Head of the Department of Surgery at USM from June 2014 to May 2021. He is also the Deputy Director (Clinical) of the USM Specialist Hospital (HPUSM) and the Coordinator of the Enterostomal Therapy Unit in the Department of Surgery at HPUSM. He is deeply committed to clinical practice, teaching, and research, mentoring undergraduate medical students, Master of Medicine (MMed) candidates, and doctoral students from Malaysia and international institutions. Beyond his academic and clinical responsibilities, he is actively involved in community outreach programs, contributing to the welfare of rural and special-needs communities at the national level.
