Rakesh Kumar Gupta, MS Prof. Gupta completed his undergraduate and postgraduate medical school in BPKIHS University. He then completed fellowship training, in Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) at Vilnius university oncology institute (VOIU) at Vilnius, colorectal division Mayo clinic, Rochester, USA, MIS & Abdominal Wall Reconstruction at National university hospital Singapore. Currently heading the MIS & General Surgery as a unit chief at BPKIHS. He has a special interest in Minimally Invasive Surgery, laparoscopic digestive and hepatobiliary - pancreatic surgery and abdominal wall reconstruction and mesh-related complications. Additionally, he is training Colorectal & hernia surgery all over the Nepal and involved in surgical education within the general surgery residency program. He is founding member and president of Nepal Hernia Society (NHS), Board of governor Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeon of Asia (ELSA) and Asia Pacific Hernia Society (APHS). He has more than 60 publications in international peer-reviewed surgical journals. He serves as member editorial board of World Journal of Surgical Procedures.
