Professor Dr. See Mee-Hoong is a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon and head of Breast and Endocrine Surgery Unit at the University of Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) and faculty of Medicine, Uninersiti Malaya. She graduated from UPM in 2003, earned her Master of Surgery from UM in 2011, and completed her Breast Oncoplastic Fellowship (2012–2015) at Universiti Malaya and Mahidol University, Thailand. She further trained in minimally invasive breast surgery and Cryoablation in Japan (2016) and robotic breast surgery at Changhua Christian Hospital, Taiwan (2022). A pioneer in Malaysia, Dr. See introduced minimally invasive endoscopic breast surgery, including 2D and 3D endoscopic nipple-sparing mastectomy (NSM) in 2019, and performed Malaysia’s first robotic-assisted NSM with immediate implant reconstruction in May 2025. As Head of the Breast and Endocrine Unit, she champions minimally invasive and robotic techniques that offer faster recovery and superior aesthetic outcomes. Her research focuses on Oncoplastic and Robotic Surgery, ERAS, and IORT, with over 70 publications and leadership in multiple trials, including TARGIT-B. She also collaborates with Kyungpook National University, South Korea, on AI applications in breast cancer diagnostics. Founder of the Asian Breast Surgery Forum (ABSF–ECHO) connecting 12 Asian countries and council member of Breast Surgical International (2024), Dr. See continues to lead regional and global advancements in breast surgery and education.
