Head of Department of Surgery, Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun Ipoh from 2008 to 2024 Service and Contributions 1. Had served the Ministry of Health Malaysia for 35 years and retired as Head of Perak Surgical Services in 2024. 2. Contributed as Trainer and Supervisor for Master of Surgery candidates 3. Examiner of Final Masters of Surgery Conjoint Board Examinations 4. Actively involved in post graduate surgical training and organised many mock post graduate examinations for candidates going for final exams. Also organised numerous basic and advanced laparoscopic workshops for surgical trainees and medical officers. Had organised numerous workshops and live demonstration surgery on Laparoscopic hernia repair. 5. During service in Health Ministry, contributed in developing Day Care Surgery in Malaysia by actively promoting Day Care Surgery and served as National Head Coordinator for Day care services in Ministry of Health. Contributed by developing the documents “Polisi Perkhidmatan Rawatan Harian” and “Day Care Surgery Standard Operating Protocols” as Chairman of the Working Committee for both documents. 6. Active promoter of Minimally Invasive Surgery in Malaysia and is a member of Society of Endoscopic Laparoscopic Surgeons of Malaysia(SELSMA) and Malaysian Hernia Society. 7. Currently is actively involved in teaching young surgeons laparoscopic hernia repair by conducting live hands on worshops all over the country under the auspices of the Malaysian Hernia Society.
