Dr. Tung-Cheng Chang is Chief of the Division of Colorectal Surgery, Department of Surgery, at Taipei Medical University Shuang-Ho Hospital in New Taipei City, Taiwan. He earned his medical degree from National Cheng Kung University and completed his PhD at the Graduate Institute of Clinical Medicine, Taipei Medical University. Dr. Chang trained in general surgery at National Taiwan University Hospital and pursued advanced clinical training at the National Cancer Centre in Tokyo, Japan. He subsequently served as an attending physician at National Taiwan University Hospital's Yun-Lin Branch before joining Taipei Medical University Shuang-Ho Hospital in 2009, where he has led the Division of Colorectal Surgery since 2017. His clinical and research interests are on colorectal surgery, minimally invasive and robotic techniques, and colorectal cancer biology. Dr. Chang is a prolific researcher with an extensive publication record in leading international journals, including BJS Open, Scientific Reports, Techniques in Coloproctology, and the International Journal of Molecular Sciences, covering topics from surgical outcomes and postoperative recovery to molecular mechanisms of colorectal cancer progression and therapeutic resistance.
